On Sunday, March 25th, ScissorBoy witnessed creativity at its best during Hair Wars 2012 Calgary. It was an amazing hair event that took place in Canada in Downtown Calgary – Flames Central.

Hair Wars is a runway hair and fashion competition, that is judged and awarded. This show brings together top salons from all over the country who battle it out for the top spot. The winning team gets a chance to move on to a National Finals that are held in Las Vegas.

The show is produced by Windy City Media’s entertainment director, Benjamin Moline and marketing director, Dan Baron. Hair Wars is hosted by celebrity hairstylist Ben Mollin, from the hit BRAVO TV show “Shear Genius”.

It was amazing to connect with Ben. Here’s ScissorBoy with Ben Mollin.

During Hair Wars 2012 Calgary, stylists from 10 hair salons across Alberta showed off their superb skills to create unconventional, elaborate, vibrant hair styles and fashion using primarily human hair as the medium.

Here are some amazing creations from stylists during Hair Wars 2012 Calgary.

And the unique look from Twisted Banana which won them the top prize at Hair Wars 2012 Calgary.

The top 3 winners were declared by the judges after the presentation. The 3 Hair Wars Calgary winners are:

1st place: Twisted Banana Hair Studios
2nd place: Diva Hair
3rd place: Delmar College of Hair and Esthetics

Congratulations to all the winners.

It was an amazing event where creativity took center stage. Many thanks to the producers of Hair Wars for bringing it to Canada. I look forward to next year’s show.
