Antonio Quintieri wins People’...

Antonio Quintieri from Shyne Salon, Canada was declared the winner of People’s Choice Award during International TrendVision Award 2011.

Antonio is an award winning Canadian hairstylist who had recently won North America Trend Vision 2011 in the Color category and hence he got a chance to represent Canada at the international level.

This year, Wella introduced the People’s Choice Award where the online audience was asked to vote for their favorite hairdressers. It was a unique thing which encouraged those with a passion for hair to watch the show live and make their support and votes count!

Antonio Quintieri won the inaugural People’s Choice Award as he amassed maximum number of votes from the online audience. Congrats Antonio!

Last year, Antonio was featured on ScissorBoy TV where he gave an AMAZING, super detailed and thorough explanation for a long hair cut including some very cool cutting techniques.

The layering techniques that he demonstrated are multi-purpose for the clients as well as stylists. Since these techniques work well for everyone, they can be easily customized to set up a new look either by styling hair or by simply tying them in a ponytail.

“Enter or Mentor” says...

Fabio Sementilli is the Creative and Technical Director of P&G Salon Professional North America. While at the 2011 Trend Vision Awards that wrapped up yesterday, he appealed to all the hairdressers to either Enter or Mentor during next year’s awards.

Fabio said that Trend Vision is not only about awards but its about building a healthy culture amongst hairdressers to enable them to be more inspirational and competitive.

This year’s Trend Vision Awards were held at Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. Regarded as the hottest ticket in hair this year, the event turned out to be very successful as there was a significant rise in the amount of audience present at the venue as well as on the internet who were watching LIVE webcast of the event hosted by ScissorBoy.

While talking to ScissorBoy’s Amy E and Sherilyn, Fabio asked hairdressers to either ‘Enter’ next year’s awards as participants or ‘Mentor’ young talented hairdressers, but don’t be left out. He asked them to join everyone at Trend Vision 2012 to help and inspire the hairdressing community.

North America Trend Vision Awards 2...

Top hair professionals from the US and Canada flocked to the Hollywood Palladium on Sunday for the North America Trend Vision Vision Awards 2011. This was the hottest ticket in hair this year!

The even was a GREAT celebration of INPIRATION, ART and STYLISTS. This year, the event was completely SOLD OUT! More than 1000 hairdressers were present in-person to watch the event while another 3000 joined from 14 different countries to watch the LIVE Webcast hosted by ScissorBoy TV

All the finalists worked hard as the winner from each category was to board a ticket to New York to represent their country at the International Trend Vision Awards on October 30, 2011.

Every year, the Wella Trend Vision Award searches for the brightest and best talents in the hair industry.

Mark Hayes is a name that has been inspiring young hairdressers at Sassoon with his passionate approach to hair and his technical expertise. After spending 30 years with the company, Mark is currently the International Creative Director for Vidal Sassoon.

In an interview with Scissorboy, Mark Hayes talks about the Seasonal Sassoon collections as well as shares his success story. He also provides tips for hairstylists that are either starting out or want to move to the next level.

We filmed a special interview with Mark Hayes during the Salon International 2010 event that concluded last  month in the UK.

Mark was 12 years old when he saw David Bowie (English rock musician) on stage and decided to do something creative in his life. Mark choose to enter the hairdressing industry and has never looked back ever since.

Starting his Vidal Sassoon career at the age of 19, Mark has been with the company for 30 years. In 2005, Hayes was bestowed the honor of becoming Sassoon International Creative Director.

Mark has ultimate responsibility for the renowned Seasonal Sassoon collections, eagerly anticipated by those wanting to know the future of fashionable hair, and has been instrumental in the launch of the company’s latest innovation, Sassoon Professional.

Mark has been the nominated for the British Hairdresser of the Year Award. Among his many accolades, Mark is proud to have won the ‘Fellowship Hairdresser of the Year’ award 2005.
