If you are a salon or spa owner, you can now build business revenue with hair loss retailing. All you have to do is open a dialogue with your clients about hair loss and then introduce them to HairCheck.

Divi International’s HairCheck device is the first measurement tool to actually gauge hair thinning, hair breakage and hair regrowth. The patented HairCheck technology gives a precise scientific measurement of how much hair is present in an area of scalp, measuring both the hair density and hair diameter within that area.

All hairstylists would agree they have been asked by their clients for a solution to their hair-loss and hair breakage problems. Most of the times, stylists suggest them to use different haircare products, supplements, styling tools, hairbrushes, etc.

Mostly, these recommendations are made without actually finding out the reason for client’s hair loss and the amount of hair lost. With HairCheck, stylists will become better stylists and ensure their clients will benefit with healthier haircare results.

Next time when your client asks you to suggest solution for their hair loss problem, have them use HairCheck. Its a great device which provides answers to all your hair loss and hair breakage questions. No hair needs to be cut and testing takes about 5 minutes.

When hair loss or breakage is detected, hair professionals can make appropriate suggestions and measure the response to take-home products and salon treatments.

This way salon, spa, medical spa and hair replacement professionals can boost their business revenue with this revolutionary new service to determine their clients’ degree of hair loss 10 to 15 years before it is visible to the naked eye.

John Steinberg – an icon in the Canadian hairdressing industry passed away last week. He had been courageously fighting with cancer since the last six months. His loss is indeed very sad.

John was one of Toronto’s best known hairstylists and his legendary career in the beauty industry lasted for 51 years. He started his career as a 15 year old apprentice under the legendary stylist Robert Edele in England in 1959. He had established his salon – John Steinberg & Associates Salon in 1991 and its friendly culture makes it one of the city’s most vibrant neighbourhoods.

John had represented L’Oreal Professional, Wella, Schwarzkopf and other companies at hairdressing conventions. He had also won the 2005 Contessa Community Service Award. Amongst his colleagues and within the industry, John was known to be a very generous and kind person.

We were honoured to have John with us on ScissorBoy TV as he talked about his adventure in the hair industry. In that episode, he not only gave great tips for wannabe hairstylists but also provided some inspirational advice for hairstylists.

This hair and beauty industry veteran lend us his inspirational advice while he was on our show by saying -

“All you need is a comb and a pair of scissors and you can go anywhere in the world!”

We’ll miss you John! Rest in peace.

The short answer… I’m having a Stem Cell Hair Loss Treatment because of wearing a pony tail and imperfect genes (or at least that’s what I’m telling myself).

For anyone who has known me, I’ve had a pony tail for the majority of my adult life. Some people said they loved my hair long, others have been trying to get to me cut it off completely. I myself never liked having a pony tail. It just kind of happened. For me it was easier to pull it back in a pony tail than deal with it being short and frizzy and out of control.

But 15 years of pulling your hair back into a tight pony tail is not good for your hairline. I wish someone told me this earlier! My forehead has been growing out of control and on the march to the back of my head. This is not the kind of progress I was looking forward to.

In November 2010 a hairstylist friend of mine (Dar from hairbydar.co.uk) introduced me to a Doctor that had developed a hair restoration technique which involved a process to take hair stem cells out of the back of your head and plant them in areas where you want to grow hair. Sounded good to me.

After meeting with the doctor and clients that have had the procedure I decided to have the procedure done on myself. Not only that, I decided to go one step further and also film and document it being done for a special episode of ScissorBoy TV (the online TV series for hairstylists that I started more than 2 years ago.)

This stem cell hair loss treatment was developed by Dr. Coen from Hair Science Institute. He had originally created this process to treat burn victims that had lost there hair and had not been able to cover their scared tissue with other forms of cosmetic surgery but was soon bombarded with men wanting to put hair back on their head.

Join me over the next several days and weeks as I give you a complete report of my experiences with this new procedure and how its solving my biggest worry of dealing with a receding hairline.

By the way… If you are thinking this is a hair transplant you are wrong. This is COMPLETELY different but I’ll explain all that in another video.
