WELLA International Trend Vision Awards will be held on November 6, 2010 in Paris. You can watch the Live Webcast of these awards at www.liveventwella.com

These awards are represented by participants who have won the WELLA Trend Vision Awards in their own countries. Thus all the national winners compete for ultimate prize of winning the International Awards.

All the participants attending the International Trend Vision Award can be seen here.

All these national award winners will be competing for the Young Talent and Colour prize. The international winners will be decided via voting.

For the first time ever you will be able to vote online! Voting will only be open on the Facebook Fan page of Wella on November 6, from 2 to 5pm (Paris Time).

This year, international ambassador for the hairdressing industry, the energetic and enthusiastic Patrick Cameron, will return once again to host the event!

The North American Trend Vision 2010 Awards had concluded last month. ScissorBoy along with Wella Professionals had brought the live webcast of these awards to you.

It was great being a part of the event and see the excitement on the faces of Trend Vision 2010 Award winners.

Scissorboy quoted during NAHA 2010...

NAHA 2010 was exciting! It was an amazing night as DJ Roonie G enthralled the audience and the stylists flaunted their well deserving awards. The night was made even more special as Scissorboy was quoted by Anna Pacitto while receiving her NAHA award.

Anna is the Artistic Director for L’Oreal Professional Canada and she successfully manages Salon Pure in Montreal, Canada. She accepted NAHA 2010 award as stylists from her salon won the Salon Team of the Year award.

Anna and her team of stylists have won numerous hair awards. While Anna was speaking about how happy she was to receive the NAHA 2010 award, she mentioned that she was featured on Scissorboy.com a few weeks ago. It was so nice of Anna to mention about us that I immediately tweeted this news.

I received a lot of emails and phone calls from people, telling me that they heard about us during NAHA 2010 awards. Thank you so much guys for showing your love for Scissorboy.

It’s a coincidence that Anna who accepted Salon Team of the Year 2010 award had actually shown “Teamwork in Action” when she was featured on the Cutting Edge Hair Show.

In that episode Anna along with her team showed us how to conduct a strategy meeting. She then showed us how they create some of their signature photo shoots that create amazing looks that win awards.

NAHA winner Alain Pereque featured...

Alain Pereque – the legend, the NAHA winner is going to be featured on Scissorboy next week. He was declared as the winner in Contemporary Classic category during this year’s NAHA awards that concluded last week. He also won another award in the Salon Team of the Year category, which went to Salon Pure.

Alain has been in this industry for 36 years and currently works as a Master Hairdresser for Salon Pure in Montreal, Canada. He is a legendary stylist and has guided numerous other stylists during his career.

I had met Alain during the Contessa Awards last year and I’m glad he’ll be our featured stylist this week. He’ll be showing a unique cutting technique that allows you to build weight as well as build softness in the hair.

Alain will also talk about the importance of cosmetology education and continuing your learning even after leaving your school. He says, “Your hairstyling education does not end once you leave school.”

He has mentored numerous stylists during his 36 year career. And he advises young stylists to choose their mentor and learn from them for their development as a hairstylist.

Apart from winning 2 awards during NAHA 2010, some of Alain’s recent accomplishments include winning the Quebec Hairstylist during Contessa 2009 and winning the Master Stylist of the Year award during NAHA 2008.

It’s often a dream of every stylist to work side by side with the best stylists in the industry. And Cosmoprof Bologna 2010 is providing an opportunity to fulfill this dream.

Cosmoprof is promoting the first real scouting project that aims at selecting the creativity in the hairdressing world. Do you think you have talent ? Publish your test video and register yourself on the selection to be one of the lucky few who go up on stage at Cosmoprof 2010, side by side with the great Masters of Hair Design.

“THE NEXT TALENT”, great masters and new talents on the same stage

The aspiring talents can click on www.thenextalent.com to enroll and load the videos of their work that will be uploaded on both the Cosmoprof website and You Tube Cosmoprof hence becoming part of the community.

The participants will have the possibility of being evaluated by the Great Masters and those selected will have the chance to exhibit their work on Monday, the 19th April together with Carlo Bay, Daniele Lui, Franck Avogadri, Robert Cromeans and Tim Hartley.

“The Next Talent” lets the real “H (Hair) factor” to surface, that special talent that makes an ordinary hairstylist into a star. It will be a launching pad for creative people, who will be in the position to show the international public of Cosmoprof their art and energy.

Cosmoprof Bologna 2010: DAY 3

Cosmoprof Bologna 2010 has been really exciting so far. I have seen some amazing trends & products during the first two days of this beauty trade event.

Day 3 at Cosmoprof Bologna 2010 promises more opportunities to learn from some of the best professionals from this industry. Here are two very special events to look forward to.

ALDO COPPOLA – 18/19 APRIL – COSMOFF LAB

Aldo Coppola will attend to Cosmoprof Bologna within “Cosmoff Lab area” with workshops and 2011 fashion trends.

Monica Coppola will provide more information about “Artistic Expression of Modern Forms” on 18th APRIL 2010 during 11:30 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. This session will be followed by Aldo Coppola who would be speaking on “Innovation of Today & Tomorrow.” This session will be held during 2:00 P.M. – 3:30 P.M. at the COSMOFF lab Area.

ONHAIR – 18/19 APRIL 2010

ONHAIR is another event taking place on Sunday at the Cosmoprof Bologna 2010 show. The most famous international hair designers will perform spectacular shows to propose the latest Spring/Summer 2011 trends during some in-depth workshops.

THE FASHION SHOW: runway shows from the spring/summer collection will be held in HAIR STUDIO A, while THE WORKSHOP: In-depth techniques “the know-how” will take place in HAIR STUDIO B.
